In 2012, an 8 week old Great Dane puppy names Duke was bought by two brothers. The brothers, Julio and Duke took the puppy home to Oklahoma City. On Christmas Eve in 2013, Julio let Duke outside to go to the bathroom, but he never returned. Julio spent months trying to find the dog, with no luck. Although the dog was micro-chipped, and registered, he was still unable to find him.
Now it is March 2016 and a man named David Walker goes outside to find a Great Dane standing right on his back porch. David lived in Navasota, Texas on a ranch. The big dog was very friendly to him, so Dave drove him to the local vet. The vet said that Duke was very healthy and just needed to gain some weight. He also found out that Duke was originally from 350 miles away and disappeared from his original home.
Dave soon called Julio and Sam to tell them he had found their dog. The brothers made the four and a half hour drive from Oklahoma City to Navasota to bring Duke back home. As soon as the brothers pulled into the driveway, Duke knew the sound of their truck. Now life is finally back to normal with Duke, Julio, and Sam. The brothers hope that others read this story and understand how important it is to micro-chip your pets.
